Josiah Anderson, PT, DPT
As the new owner of Physical Rehabilitation and Wellness Center (PRWC), Dr. Josiah Anderson is excited to bring his extensive experience in all levels of spine rehabilitation, joint and soft tissue mobilization techniques, and trunk stabilization exercises to the patients of PRWC. He is also skilled in treating post-operative hip and knee replacements as well as a variety of shoulder injuries.
Josiah’s interest in Physical Therapy began after suffering a back injury while playing football in high school. After several months of treatment with a chiropractor without improvement he was evaluated by a physical therapist. Soon after beginning the trunk stabilization exercises that were prescribed, he was able to return to playing sports without pain.
This experience inspired Josiah to pursue a career in Physical Therapy. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Michigan in 1996. After graduation, he moved west and completed the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at the University of Southern California in 2000. Throughout his studies, he continued to have a special interest in spine rehabilitation. And, after graduation, he began working at a well-known orthopedic clinic in the Los Angeles area specializing in spine care. He worked there for 5 years in a mentored setting, gaining experience with all types of spine injuries and surgeries. The clientele varied from children to older adults and included high profile patients and professional athletes. This experience gave Josiah the confidence to open his own clinic in West Los Angeles.
In 2006, Josiah and his wife welcomed a baby boy into their lives. Their search for a better place to raise their son led them to the Bay Area in 2010. Josiah now brings over 15 years of experience in home health care, outpatient clinics, and management to PRWC.
